Major Quality of Life improvements

  • Can now change most keyboard controls to custom keybindings

  • New 'tank style' (relative) movement control scheme available

  • Faction events no longer ‘lock’ gameplay but slide in on the side to be viewed at player’s convenience

  • Weapons toggle now switches between automatic and manual firing modes instead of enabling/disabling weapons.

  • Ambush event panel now shows threat assessment

  • Power level indicator added to all ships

Minor Quality of Life Improvements

  • Current ship weight indicator added to equipment store screen

  • Current ship slot summary added to equipment store screen.

  • Faction events are also added to main log

  • Equipment tooltips now show weapon/utility/core type.

Balance/gameplay changes

  • Hull points and shield points reduced for most ships

  • Heat sink restored as starting utility for player ship

  • Player no longer spawns adjacent to enemy stations in new sector

  • Faction event messages are not shown for non-player factions until those factions have been encountered

  • Can no longer use repair skill to remove ‘overheated’ status

  • Minor rebalancing of quality bonuses for equipment

  • Hostile ships no longer spawn in friendly areas

  • Increased credits gained from story missions

  • Reduced costs for fuel

  • Increased XP gain from combat

  • General reduction in damage/to hit falloff with range

  • Reduced effectiveness status can now apply (in different ways) to engines, shields and generators

Graphical improvements

  • New font for warning text messages

  • Background images for mission complete and faction event panels

  • Added VFX to show when a new target has been selected

Audio improvements

  • Music now fades out on leaving sector

  • Music now transitions from 'threat' to 'normal' immediately after enemy ships have been destroyed.

Tutorial

  • New tutorial panel about overheating and fire damage

  • New prominent message shown indicating how to address overheating issues

  • Manual section added for mining asteroids.

  • New help panels added for each station module

  • Improved keyboard movement controls help panel

  • New mission panel added to indicate how to progress in the story when there is no active mission

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed occasional issue with inappropriate font colours in dialogues

  • Fix bug where target analysis button is repeatedly highlighted during the tutorial

  • Fixed bug where dialog options can be activated while in mission complete panel

  • Fix bug where clicking on station UI icons does not allow access to station view

  • Fixed bug where target icon is sometimes not shown for current target

  • Fix bug where area for "Events" tab in the pop up is not big enough, beyond the "N" it selects the adjacent Close button instead.

  • Fix bug where Hovering over the Close button doesn't make any noise.
