Key Roadmap UI improvements


ROADMAP: system map now allows filtering of missions by faction

ROADMAP: system map tooltips now show goods traded in each sector 

ROADMAP: system map now has goods display which allows filtering by specific goods

ROADMAP: UI Scaling (via slider which can be toggled in graphics settings)


Other UI improvements


NEW: Sector map view (press ‘M’ to use)

NEW: Energy and Heat Display in mainUI (experimental)

NEW: UI message indicating how to cancel autopilot

NEW: improvements to tooltips for main map objects

NEW: improved tooltip information for engine heat and energy efficiency, and generator fuel efficiency

NEW: minor visual improvements to main UI bars

MOD: remove intro tutorial panel when starting a new random missions mode for the second time

MOD: info messages for active region effects are no longer shown if tutorial messages are disabled

MOD: help messages when trying to use a skill that is currently coolding down are no longer show when tutorial messages are disabled

MOD: increased base camera zoom speed

MOD: mining or trading ships from hostile factions with non-hostile attitude no longer cancel autopilot


Game Difficulty


These changes should have the overall effect of making ‘adventure’ mode significantly easier; ‘tactical’ mode should also be a little easier than previously, especially at the start of the game; while ‘extinction’ difficulty remains as a challenging difficulty mode for hardcore players.


BAL: number of civilian ships in each sector now depends on ‘resource’ stat

BAL: numbers of ships in each sector now varies more with difficulty level

BAL: general rebalancing of ship numbers for minor factions, with lower starting numbers that increase gradually over the course of the game with progress of player 

BAL: reduced size of enemy ambushes in ‘adventure’ difficulty


Other Balance changes


BAL: reduced amount of fuel gathered by fuel scoop, and amended description

BAL: increased amount of goods to be delivered for get goods mission

BAL: captured holoship projectors now generate ships that support the player

BAL: reduced reputation requirements for star knight

BAL: added random spawning of missions to ensure there are always sufficient missions available to meet victory point, reputation and mission requirements


Other new features 


NEW: new utility item: ‘Shield modder’ which counters weapons that overload shields NEW: cargo pods are now generated when jettisoning goods 

NEW: fuel can now be found as loot in debris

NEW: improved manual sections for 'movement and energy' and 'fuel and movement'

NEW: wrecks now have lighting effects which indicate whether they have been fully explored.


Bug fixes


FIX: bug where clicking on relic in relic store causes strange trading behavior including ability to repeatedly sell the same equipment, and ability to 'print' relics by jettisoning goods

FIX: bug where dialogs are not reset on completing distress call mission where ship requires fuel, allowing infinite credits exploit

FIX: bug where you can rebuy and re-deliver the same resource during resource delivery missions

FIX: bug where refusing a transport mission causes the goods to end up in cargo anyway

FIX: bug where using autopilot allows you to move even when out of fuel

FIX: bug where active effects of cloaking devices and other equipment can remain active after equipment is deactivated or unequipped

FIX: some issues with ability to fire weapons while using stealth field and cloaking device

FIX: some issues when targeting civilian Union ships

FIX: bug where completing a mission to boost reputation with a minor faction causes you to lose reputation with that faction

FIX: bug where patrol/distress-call/getrelic mission sequence has confusing instructions as to which sector the relic must be delivered to

FIX: bug where tooltip for mission UI occasionally shows incorrect target sector

FIX: bug causing ‘ghost’ ships which appear on the map though they can be moved through by other ships

FIX: some issue where player-portrait/pilot-skills button is not responsive to mouse input

FIX: bug where unable to load from save from splash screen after returning to splash screen from an existing game.

FIX: better error handling for corrupted save files (corrupted files now function as empty slots)

FIX: bug where missions sometimes result in reputation increase and decrease for the same faction
